I'd think a 200 would work very well, although the length seems it would be a job to deal with.
Another GREAT engine swap is the old Buick / Olds / Rover aluminum V8, it's even lighter and fits neatly in the engine compartment. If you want to go completely overboard, how about a Buick 455 powered MGB with a Jag independent rear end?
