The post by Xestacy Oct 16 /2012 on thread topic ( 200ci Big Bell question) . Xestacy says the 1981 to 1983 Fox bodys were technically the only cars with the Big Bell 200s. X says they had the foot ball Cat with 4.5 outlet .

Question , so a 1981 to 1983 Fox body with the 200cid engine that has the Primary Light off Catalyst as part of the exhaust manifold means it is a Big Bell ? did this light off cat only come on Big Bell 200s ? So is the foot ball light off cat always an indicator of a Big Bell 200 ?

Howdy. I used to have a '79 Capri (and a '76) but it was a four cylinder. Can you see your starter? If it's mounted up high, above the block/oil pan seam, it's a regular block. If it's mounted down below the block/oil pan seam like a 250 it's the "big bell".
