Hello, i am upgrading my 66 200 mustang w/ an oz head and i would like to convert the throttle linkage w/ cable linkage. I have read that this is done by getting the pedal and the cable all the way to the carb from a 78 fairmont. Is this what i need? Would i need anything else? Anyone done this or have any more info on exactly what i need or what needs to be done? Or even any other ideas on how to accomplish the change to cable? Thanks for the help :D Mark

Thanks for the info :D Spent hours attempting to find an old post :? Thanks again. Mark

I used the Fairmont stuff. it worked well.

I had to limit the pedal travel inside the car. I installed a bolt into the floor so I can adjust the height of the stop

I'm working on a system using lokar cables and brackets, but retaining the old rod. I just want it to look stock from the outside. Lokar also makes a pedal that has a connection for a cable, but it no where close to stock.

Okefenokee that looks great, here is a picture of my buget linkage using 1978 Fairmont pedal ($5) and Pepboys univerisal linkage kit ($20) and homemade bracket (free) Sorry the engine is dirty but it's a daily driver

Dirty engine?

LOL

I'd show you my dirty engine , but then there would be the eye doc visit for you, eye drops, etc

Thanks guys, for all the info :D Hope the holidays are going well for all. Cobrasix i also would like to keep atleast a somewhat stock look in the car. Please let me know how your mods w/ the lokar come along as i think i would like to try something like that. As always i will ride your coat tails  Thanks again, Mark
