Okay...pulled my old head off, and was transfering my valve springs and associated hardward over to my aussie head since the valve springs are matched to my cam.

Do #1 exhaust valve, no problem. Go do #1 intake...the valve stem seal will not stay. Upon closer inspection, the valve guide has a different sized base. Anyone else had this problem? What size seal am I supposed to use? It measures to 1/2" but does anyone know of cars that have that size?

Thanks.

Slade

The OZ head uses 11/32 valves (stem size) the logs are 5/16. When I had stainless valves (5/16) installed on my OZ head, I recall my machinist could not find bronze guides that were 5/16 with OD of 1/2 so we went eventually went with iron guides. You will need seals the 5/16 * 1/2 guides.

My head was converted to all US style valves, guides, Etc.

I ended up going to a local parts store that had a performance engine shop in the back. We found some that fit. All Set.

I put in all new Aussie valves with U.S. hardware, IIRC the machine shop bored the bronze guides to the aussie spec's 5/16 no problem mate!
