I'm in trouble. Everytime I hit the brakes hard the car dies. But it has no problem starting again. What could be causing it?

Thanks in advance for answering my newbie question.

Hi,

A time ago I had kind that problem too.
When I hit the brakes the engine shut off.
It was an electrical problem, there was a massa problem whit the brakelights. So when I hit the brakes the ignition was failing.
You can follow the wires on the schematic in your manual and measure.
If you haven't got the scematic I can send you a copy by email.

i agree with addo. if your carburetor is the 1100, raise the float level 1/16 " higher than specs. it fixed it on my 1100 carb.

Thanks guys, it was a bad fuel filter and a low float carb. Did the adjustments yesterday. A minor tweak in the A/F mixture and idling and she was fine.
