yes it looks like it can bolt on, and bolt the 2bbl carb to it...
no, cause the ford six has the bolts slanted or angled, this one looks like it's lacking that slant... making your linkage work at an angle. this "might" be usible if using a cable
My issue is that i have the clifford adapter but its for the 250 or 1.75" hole. I need the one for the 1.5" mount. Would it clear the hood if i were to use the weber adapter on top of the stock carb plate with the pcv valve nipple?
Classic Inlines sells an adapter for the 1.5" that MPGmustang mentioned.
You'd be better off getting the CI one for several reasons:
1. The CI adapter mounts at the correct angle allowing you to use your present linkage with minor modification; with the Weber you definitely need to go with a cable since it rotates the carb at a different angle.
2. The CI adapter is shorter, giving you better hood clearance.
3. You keep Mike in business (and this forum up)
But mike's stuff is relatively pricey for me at the moment. And i see that they have two adapters that are supposed to be used together to make the one and that comes up to be 90 bucks!! Thats more than i paid for the whole carb.
Would the weber adapter work if i used the stock ford base adapter? I measured a few things but the numbers are too close for me to assume anything.
Has anybody tried to do this?
Yes, i used that adapter and managed to fenagle the rod linkage to work pretty easily. I bought a length of rod at home depot and bent it to suit my needs. If you go with a cable you can actually use this adapter to place the float bowl forward instead of sideways, which is a nice thing unless you like you car dying on turns.
