I have a 66' mustang with the 200. I'm trying to update my carb. It currently has the Autolite 1100. What have you all done to solve this problem with the fewest modifications.
What is wrong with your 1100? Is the rest of the engine stock? Are you interested in stock, or performance? If performance, at what $ costs and what fuel mileage?
Ponycarbs (www.ponycarbs.com) rebuilds 1100 with generally excellent reputation, purportedly fixing design problems and tuning the carb correctly so you don't have to. But the 1100 has only so much. If you are looking to better headers, cam, then you will need to look to a 2v or 4v replacement.
You'll find that many folks on the forum here will give you lots of advice, especially once they know your needs/wishes. Using the search function will get you some excellent reading immediately. Try a search for offenhauser or clifford. You will get LOTS of stuff.
