Changeing Carbs

the next thing i was going to do was either a header and exhaust or a holley 2300.

since my stock autolite 1100 has started to leak i think i'll do the carb before exhaust.

My question is: do i need the 2 3/4" adapter or the 3 5/8" adapter?
the engine is a 200 and the head is the stock 1966 head

also what kind of modifications do i need to do to connect the throttle linkage to the carb?

I believe that all the small log heads have the 2 3/4" bolt centers.

You will not see much performance improvement with the addition of a two barrel carburetor if the original single exhaust system is in place. If you have the funds, upgrade the exhaust system soon after the two barrel carburetor upgrade to see benefits.

The throttle linkage usually differs among applications. You might be able to get away with a simple linkage modification as seen here or you might have to install a cable throttle. See what other people have done with their linkages because many of us here have installed a 2bbl carburetor. I am currently trying to install a cable throttle for my 2bbl carburetor linkage setup.
