Chrome oil pan

HI ALL
Do they make a chrome oil pan for our 6's (200)? I have a chrome valve cover already and I don't realy want to do an Orange/black motor for orginal color.. But I could cope with a chrome/black motor.
Thanks

I just saw one yesterday on a site, but I think the bookmark is on my computer at home. I'll look when I get home.

However, I though I heard that chrome oil pans hold in heat real bad.

Ugh! I swear I saw one somewhere I can't find it anywhere! Sorry, Pedal2themetal45. I have found a few sites that sell new painted one's but no luck with the chrome. The only thing I can think of is buying a new one and getting it chromed or Jett-hot coated.

Sorry.

If I stumble across it again, I'll let you know.

I've thought about chroming my oil pan when I pull the old engine for the swap. I never thought about doing a JetHot or powder coating. That might be a better choice than chroming. Just about every bracket on my boat engine is powder coated silver. With all the heat and road debries I wonder which would be the best option?

Unless the is a show car and you have an unlimited budget then powder coating or even high temp paint would be the way to go. It you can find a chrome oil pan that would be great but if you would have to get your own chromed it would probably be cost prohibitive. Jet hot coating would look good and may be less expensive that chroming but I think I read somewhere (maybe on VMF) that jet hot coating thing like valve covers and oil pans causes heat to be retained by the motor.

The chrome dosn't cause the oil pan to leak-90% of the chrome parts you see out there are produced in Taiwan. Cheap Taiwanese parts leak

unless your stock one is 100% rust free you will end up paying out the nose for plating on it. the big killer on plating is the prep work involved. everything has to be stripped and cleaned/filled, plated and buffed.....gets costly in the USA to get that done

If I decide to have the oil pan powder coated, I'll have a friend vat it for me to remove any residual oil and paint, then do a good sanding before I send it in. Besides ending up with alot more power than the original 65 stock engine, I'm wanting to maximize the 'Glitz' factor. It will have all the chrome. aluminum, or stainless I can find that will bolt on to a 200. All braided hoses and fuel lines and I'd like to find someone who makes an aluminum plug wire loom for an I6. Tons out there for bent 8's. I've ordered a chrome alternator bracket and am trying to find the right chrome alternator that will work on a 65 Mustang.

If you have a lot of time, maybe you could polish it and powder coat it with clear. My father did that with a power steering pump once and it came out looking like chrome.

Not THAT much time. I'll just have a silver powdercoat put on if I do it at all. All the brackets and such on my boat's engine came out very nice.

Checked with a local powdercoat place today. They said $40 for the oil pan and $15 for the timing cover to have it done in silver

sounds like a good deal, maybe i'll have my stuff done if i take it apart again. but i'll definitly get my valve cover done, mybe something like mustangaroo's

chrome is really slippery, my friend had some leaks with his new valve covers once, hard to seal chrome sometimes.

i was talking about powder coating, anybody know if you could get a header powder coated instead of ceramic coated
