Chrome oil pan

I once got some good advise from a veteran road race engine builder: do not chrome oil pans. That will make the pan to retain more heat, elevating the oil temp. Is that critical that a racer here broke an engine just because of that. Leave it black, and you're engine will thank you.

The guy at the powdercoating place that I talked to said that he won't do headers. In fact, when I started talking about powdercoating engine parts, that's the first thing he said.

Black radiates heat(gets rid of it)
Chrome, silver, white do not.
Just that simple.
You don't see chrome radiators do you?

i emailed jet hot and they said for one of our headers they would do it for $110 plus whatever the shipping is

what kind of engine do you have?

-- edit--
i just saw your profile on cardomain.
I figured you had a 200. i bet it would pretty much be the same for my 250. I think i'm getting a good deal since i dont have to pay shipping and handling.
