I'm researching a Clifford Performance built Ford 250 six engine. Supposed to have Jahns 10:1 Pistons, Clifford rods, balanced bottom end, Fisher balancer, 1.88 int. valves, Ported and relieved, Offy 3X1, Re-curved distrib., the works...

Was built years ago by Clifford shop. I'd appreciate any info or contact with anyone involved with performance six engine builds with Jack Clifford. Shop contact & build-spec consult was with "John" when engine was built.

Engine was stored and never fired. Before attempting firing it up - there are a few mysteries about the engine I'm working on....trying to find basic info like Cam used?(supposed to be 272H), If Clifford typically decked 250 blocks & Jahn's 10:1's?, head milling/gasket types used?, What the Clifford red "Break in Fluid for Blueprinted engine" bottle contains and any other "6=8" build facts/history from the era.

The names connected with Hot Rod Six building, racing and parts are a short list in Hot Rod history. Some include:

Fenton
Offenhauser
Edelbrock
Halibrand
Clifford
Langdon
Schjehldahl
FSPP
... Who's next?

Thanks,

Have you tried talking to Clifford direct?I know some of the staff that use to work there has moved on the last couple of years.

If you aren't interested, that would look good under my Mav's hood. :?

http://mustangandfords.com/techarticles/5283/... all i can say is you'd better hold on tight when you run this baby. I have the build sheet on my computer somewhere, about 8 years ago clifford built an engine for my dad in his mustang and it was bitchin.
when i find it ill sned it to you. they did a bunch of tricks to it.

I can only wonder what's current state of your Dad's engine. Close to same setup as mine. Did it have the Offy head work? . When you see the thought - as well as - work that went in to these engines it's inspiring. There are a number of six cylinder " Engine Builders" refining the work and Clifford put a lot of ideas in place.

This is a 250, I presume yours is(was) 200?. Supposed to have Jahn's 10:1's . There's a set of Hooker Super Comp's duals as well.
