Clifford Aluminum head?

remember this is a xflow head though so should give better HP numbers....plus as a complete bolt on setup it should include a intake also. my guess is that it uses windsor hards parts so that there are no splayed pushrods in the way like the xflow head from down under. and it is AL so you are looking to be able to run a higher CR for even more power

When I spoke to Clifford in the Spring, the guy was telling me that there is also a fuel injected version in the works. He was saying that is was fully programable, like the cars in 2fast 2 furious. I am not really into the super tuner cars, but to be able to vary the way my engine reacts uncertain conditions might be interesting.
I'll stick with my Aussie!

To be truly feasible you'd need to retain the stock port layout. That would allow you to keep the stock cams. You'd want to try to keep the same exhaust flange as well so that current headers would fit.

A new intake would be a given, but unless the head keeps the two features above, to do a head swap would involve a complete new exhaust and cam as well.

If the Krogdahl could be slightly re-engineered to a 4-valve pent-roof configuration, it would be more attractive and p[robably more powerful.

I wouldn't put it past clifford to force you to use only their stuff...all custom so you cant use anyone else's parts.

Just looking threw the threads and fell on this one... So it's spring of 04....anyone heard anything new about this head??? If you have, share the wealth cause i'd enjoy looking into this head. I'm young and dumb, plus i love my car  . Hopefully i'll be getting body done soon then it's time to tear some...ahhh...stuff up :D .

Typo, that's the spring of 3004. They're just fishing - they need to sell 500 to make any money, and it's not going to happen.
Cross-flow sounds nice, but new cam, new header, new exhaust system.
Who said it was "blueprinted", and what does that mean? Ported? No, not for that price, and I would certainly not take it out of the box and bolt it on. You're still going to have to take it apart and clean it, check all the seats, stem heights, equalize the chamber volumes, etc. and assemble your own spring stack as a bare minimum, so there will be labor involved even though it's new.

panic...I believe what thye have listed on the website is just a rebuild 200 head.

I think what he was asking about was the reports (and I talked to Clifford about it a few months back) that they were developing a new aluminum crossflow head for the 200...price was going to be around $1500-2000, but is not out yet.

well there is a price up for a blue printed cylinder head at cliffords... it is $1095. It doesn't say if it is complete or made of aluminum though.

A guy at the Pensacola show last weekend said he'd heard they would be under $1000 - seems cheap to me. At that price I'd think they'd sell quite a few (if the heads are worth a darn).

I've talked to Clifford and gotten e-mails about this intake head. They have had it "under development" for 2-3 years now. Last November the ETA was January. In January the ETA was April or so. Believe me, whatever they have going on, it won't come out until well past April, what with moving their shop and re-jiggering their stock on hand.
I think AzCoupe has a better shot of getting OZ copies out before Clifford.
