Clifford says wait a month

Alright, I just got off the phone with Clifford and they say it'll be over a month to get a dual out header! :bang: :bang: :bang: I need a header very soon so I can modify my A/C / alternator bracket. What I need to know is this:

The Clifford header first pipe(toward the front) hugs the engine giving ample space for the bracket, I need to know the space of FSP header first tube and how much it sticks out. Just by pictures it looks like that tube gets pretty close to the alternator....

Oh, how long will it take of FSP header to reach GA? I'm in a crunch for time....

Clifford's time measurements often come from an alternate universe. One month in their frame of reference can easily stretch into six or more in ours.

SR, I was pondering something like that. Perhaps their products are gestated.

i have decided that everything clifford makes, supplies, or owns is made of " unobtainium" and hence makes procurement impossible.

Just was wondering why someone would order headers from clifford when azcoupes headers seem to be better quality, better service and I think better price. Is there a difference or something I don't know about? Or is it a shipping thing?

As for quality and service, I'll let you guys be the judge of that. My pricing is better, and shipping should be about equal. I can ship a header anywhere in the continental US for no more than $26, so I doubt that is an issue.

I'm going with the Pacemakers! Now I'm looking for the A/C braket that attaches to the head and hangs near the distributor. Any ideas where I could find one of those?

For me they just won't fit but then neither would the 53-0186 Clifford I got. Still need the Clifford 53-2112 short firewall if anyone has one.

I too recommend AzCoupe, he is #1. Dreamin now about the new cam...

The only reason I want a Clifford header is that on my Fox body Mustang the engine sits well forward of the crossmember.

The FSPP header's front tube comes down and back almost at a 45deg ange and I ahve concerns wheter or not the front tube will clear my crossmember.

The Clifford header comes back and down and is supposedly cleared to fit a '78 Ford fairmont with an Inline Six, which is the exact same engine compartment as mine.

Gotchya! Sometimes I seem to foget that we all dont have early mustangs

Will I have any probs with clearance on my 68 mustang if I use azcoupes headers? They are on my short list of things to get as soon as I make some $$$$$$$$$$

Anlushac: The front tube on the Cliffy dual out header comes real close to the k-member on my brother's Fairmont, but it does clear.

What do you call "real close"? I am looking at the same thing for a fox body. I like the construction of AZ's better, and someone was trying them in a fox, I was waiting until they posted whether or not the fit worked before ordering. If they don't fit, I may have to go with the clifford.

Anyway....back to the grind.

1-1/2 to 2 inches (depends on how hard the car was running before shutdown) of space from the front tube to the k-member, it actually hit the k-member when revving before we replaced the motor mounts. We're thinking about swapping a 5.0 tubular k-member with solid motor mount adapters in to get more clearance.

Actually AzCoupe's header looks like it would fit almost exactly the same, but it's hard to tell without them side by side.

BTW keep in mind our Cliffy dual is an almost ten year old header, so if the designs have been changed it may have more or less clearance.
