finally my buddy got his motor back from clifford performance except clifford performance went over the estimated price well this is what they did, the motor was a 200 the blue printed a head then ported polished it 3 angle valve job hard valves, roller rockers, milled to .30 forgged kb pistons, zero decked and milled poshished cylinders, reground crank their high lift 264 cam, headers, 08-3148Weber 48 DCOE side draught carb, ext. they put evrything together so is all we had to do is drop it in. they garentee this could safly reach 7000 RPM. everything is chromed except the head and block are ford blue. well i think my freind was kinda crazy for agreeing with cliffords with the price of $5,863.50 if i was himi would have freaked cause the original estimate was only $4000. but if it runs as good as it looks he's in for a treat i guess. well my question how why is the transmittion and the flywheel not lining up we can get one bolt in and the other 2 are like realy close but not exact and we are affraid we will break a bolt if we force it.

   Six thousand bucks? I'd expect them to install it, too. And a free haircut from Larry. I'd love to see a pic with the weber carb...

Is it the flywheel or flexplate that came with the original motor and tranny? You might have to pull it off the crank and test against the transmission first. Don't forget to use sealer on the bolts when you reattach to the crank after.

Cheers, Adam.

He could have bought another Mustang or Falcon with that kind of money! What was he thinking?!?!?!

Rotate the flywheel and check the alignment on the bolt holes... it only matches up one way, chances are you have it in the wrong alignment?

this if for balance purposes...

yea i did not think clifford built them tell we droped off his block and head and stuff. i think he was a iddot for doing it but he is one of those people who has alot of money wish i was like him. Well it turned out tranny shop did not put on the stall converter correctly or something but they fixed it and he put in the motor. i will see if he can send me a pic of the car and motor and post it here for you guys.

SR, I think those prices are reversed...

1 DCOE side-draft? I'd like to see a pic.

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I was worried about $26.00 for a new air cleaner....does your buddy need another buddy????

oh what i could do with that money i could buy a civic jk guys calm down hehe, but yeah thats quite a bit, what does a stock rebuild usually run, like 2?

Holy Crap! For that, he could have picked up a pro built flathead V8 or a Cobra 427. Or a nicer car? Who know? But a 200? I'd go $1,800 max.

I think I have spent and will spend about the following

Oz 250 head: $450 +/-
Shipping: about $425
forged pistons: roughly $650 ( I want to eventually turbo the motor)
rebuilding short block: $800
rebuild head: $150
custom copper head gasket: $90 (long story, dont go there)

Total: $25665

And I still have to get everything but the T-5 for the manual conversion.
