I don't know if Gus is a member here, but I followed all of his Mustang 200cid build videos. In fact, it was his videos that inspired me to dig into mine, and not do the typical v8 swap ect...

Anyways, he caught the attention of Richard Holdner (Bald Dyno Jesus) from 'Westech Performance' and he made a cool video about his car...

I am a member here! Holdener only made a video because he happened to be there while I was at Westech. Interestingly enough Westech was never able to tune it. They kind of threw their hands up and told me to get a different EFI system. I was able to get in contact with Fitech and they tune the car where it was 100% better. Of course, I broke a piston land like right away and I'm getting the engine back together with better parts.

Sweet dude! Love the fact that you're here...

I absolutely love your car. Hope to get mine in that ballpark someday ;-)

It has been shown before on another link, but it doesn't diminish it's impact. Well done Gus.

I'll sling my carry bag over the ring land breakage. In Australia, early Ford Falcon sixes never progressed to the slotted ring lands, but Holden in line sixes did with the exception of the the 1971 to 1973 GTR 202/3300 XU1 Harry Firth redesign drilled hole oil relief ring lands, supplied by Mahle to Repco Australia, later ACL.

The pistons came from the West German Ford Cologne 1990 and 2555 60 degree V6 design, in high alumino-silicate content HyperEutectic alloy. The interim solution for others using the older stock OEM 173/186 and 202 cubic inch slotted design was to TIG weld the slotted oil relief, and then drill circumferential oil holes. That way, the ring lands never separate.

This info means you can then use the Silvolite 1189P piston, but you have to weld the slotted section under the oil relief. Or use the US made 200/250 1985 low tension thin ring Australian design slotted HyperEutectic...which doesn't have the ring land separation issue.

And another one of the many Turbo in line six Mustangs on the Youtube network

Cast pistons are a thing of the past

Turboroni Jabroni made 400hp and 500tq on a 1980 head built by Jeff Jones at Vintage Engine Works.
Fordsix.com has plenty of info

and there is a Facebook group dedicated to these sixes called vintage mustang 6 forum

Actually Jeff has assisted me in getting my pistons. Coming soon!

I’m using 1jz rods and at current my crank is better ground to work with the rods. Using forged pistons with floating pins this time. No more broken lands for me. :)

Gus , Can you tell us which number cylinder gave you problems.
Make sure that you use a good strong pin.

Ok guys...I got another one for ya! :rotfl:

"Our customer wanted something different for the street. A 349 Horsepower 200c.i.d. Ford inline six is different. It's going into a '64 Falcon, The attached dyno sheets show it at 349.8 Hp @ 5000 rpm and 374 Tq 4900 rpm. Our customer was kind enough to release his dyno sheet. Custom ground Comp Cam, valve train mods, extensive head work, custome intake and Weber carb."

"...Jeff Jones is on here as @captndiet..."
Oh, I thought Jeff was the "1 hot vega " some unreasonably derided on here (like MadMike'sMav)...
May B he's both?

I want that truck (in 4WD & w/a ZF)

Once I get this sorted out on the computer controlled timing and fuel. Wheather or not I can run the Cam without swapping over to carburetor ! I’m considering the 4x4 conversion. Looks simple enough but my main concern is good towing.
