i dont think the motor is overheating it gets to about 180 degrees. but when i park car it will overflow out the tube onto the ground. kinda of emarrassing at cruise ins and shows.i live in florida and its been rather hot lately. do any of you guys have an over flow set up on your car and can you post some pictures. thanx cocacolaman

that and maybe a over flow resevoir of som sort
and a hint if u dont use ur windsheild wiper fluid that bag works pretty good(its wut i use)

There are some nice reservoirs off '70s British cars. Brass, with a strong mounting strap and a couple pints capacity. They look kind of old and appropriate, too.

Cheers, Adam.

I used a piece of tupperware...total cost for Tupperware, rubber hose and hose clamp $3.99

It may also be you filling it to full... when cold the fluid level in the rad should be about 1" from the top to alow for expansion when it heats up.. Try not filling it next time it overflowes and see if it stops overflowing and that it doesn't over heat..
just my .02

from what I understand this is why the top tank on a down flow radaitor is larger is that it serves as the coolent supply. that and in the old days of full service you prob had it checked on a regular basis and topped off

Cocacolaman-
Here is my overflow set-up. I used a Mercuyman Washer Resovoir and attached tubing to make it fuction like and overflow tank. Painted the head silver on a black base- works just fine. It's on the lower right side of the pic:

Good luck!

I'm also looking at doing something similar, but I want a setup similar to a header expansion tank...like the T-Bolts where it was located above the radiator filler neck and from what I understand it's constantly purging the fluid to get rid of air.

I am using an old glass coca-cola bottle and a hose clamp bolted to my fender. I think it looks cool and every time I have my hood open people always comment on it.
