When adjusting the pump arm clearence at the accelerator pump, do you hold the arm all the way down, say with needlenose pliers, until it bottoms out (until it will no longer move)? Or just until the adjusting nut and pump arm touch? I have read there site info on how to adjust, but still unclear on how far to hold it down. Thanks for any help.

Kirk, with the throttle wide open, hold the arm which is actuated by the accerator pump cam in contact with the cam.

Then with a pair of needle nose pliers, open the pump diaphram arm all the way open, there should be about .015 gap from the pump arm to the adjusting screw on the lever from the pump cam.

Adjust the spring loaded screw as necassary.

Just make sure at curb idle throttle position that there is no clearance on the screw & arm which you maybe adjusted.

Thats it. William
