Crazy Multiple Induction Question!!!!

You can get Weber 32/34s off of ford fiestas at the junk yard for about $20 each. I also have a friend that found a 2 stage 2bbl weber at the flee market that had vacuum secondary. I don't remember if he said what it came off.
 
We'll see how the motorcycle carbs work out. I have two sets of these coming this week.

I intend to remove an end carb off both sets and hook them together to make a row of six. I've started working on stubs for the crossflow intake.
 
36 mm carbs may have an effective venturi size of something less than the 9.5 square inches (or 36 mm of venturi area per piston) Weber recomends for maximum performance at 6000 rpm in a car with over 500 cc per cylinder. But that's just me splitting hairs again. :roll:

Truth is, the Baja racers with OHC 2300's have shoved these carbs on off roaders for years, and found them to be excellent. There are a bewildering array of tunning bits around, and as long as you sort out a nice long travel acclerator pedal with enough mechanical advantage, they are possibly the best carb to use on a dollar for dollar basis. Very easy to get the manifold sorted. For guys like you Jack, with acess to the right guys to weld and tune, it would be the ultimate!
 
These are the cheapest high performance solution I have conjured up yet. I've now picked up three sets (enough for two engines) for the princely total of $120.

I can weld up stubs easily enough and it looks like just taking the ends off of two sets will allow me to jut fit them easily back together in a row of six. They are far more compact than the Strombergs and SU's I have lying about and will easily fit under the bonnet of the Locost.

Oh, and I was mistaken. They are 38mm, not 36mm as I originally typed. And you may be able to use less carb than recommended by Weber because these have no venturi or booster restricting the inlet flow. Simple a flat CV slide and a throttle plate. When you open both to full throttle, it looks like a smooth bore hole.
