Custom Extractors

Doesn't really mater. You cant package those in a spring over upper a-arm IFS, the spring towers get in the way.

i think my engine bay is plenty big enough, a set of 2” with a Clevo would be very tedious, my friends XR runs a 460 BBF with off the shelf pipes, to tight. My biggest problem is snaking around the gearbox linkages, but for my planned power upgrade the 3 speeder wont cut it, another tough built aspirated 250 crossflow went on the engine dyno today. Look at these….

403HP @ 5700 rpm
382FT @ 4600 rpm

that motor is in a TC Cortina, was getting freshened up at Big H Racing, has a nice solid roller. Very tempting if i had the cash, as i do love my sixes. Has a glorious set of pipes and can be revved much higher i would imagine.

so i have decided custom extractors may be the go, emailed a couple of off the shelf companies in Aus, just asked whether crossflow size pipes can be done with the pre crossflow flange, means a whole jig change for the size. I also want stainless, i did find another set of pacemakers 250 2V tuned length. Lucky i know a exhaust guy. I wont do it until the head comes off for the 1V-2V conversion and a couple of mods to my head.

"...crossflow size pipes can be done with the pre crossflow flange, means a whole jig change..."

not if you know some1 in the circuit that can bend up something. Wouldn't that cost about the same as "off the shelf companies in Aus"?
What is the diameter sz difference between the 2 (x-flow v post) flanges?

ask a pipe bender what it would cost, some1 to make what we call the collectors ("2 into 1" & "3 into 1"), and then a welder (to add the plate @ the head)
/OR/
an after mrkt exhaust builder...
:?:

i’ve got a place that sells the 10mm pre crossflow flange for about 60 bucks, i can also work out what i need for the stainless bends etc, seems to be a problem with every aftermarket set made, i know Jason paid around 700 without coatings for his custom set, i have two places to try first so will get a quote and compare that to getting the materials myself and getting my mate to tig it all up.

can anyone tell me the primary size on either the Classic inlines headers or the Hookers? And to anyones knowledge has anyone custom made a set of pipes bigger than 1.5” primary for a 200 pre. I am working out whether its the small increases for large bucks or whether to bite the bullet and build now for what is to come down the track.
