Cylinder compression & oil

What is the expectation for new cylinders and compression.

I checked mine and they run 165, 165, 170, 165, 175, 165
I have a 268 cam, with roller rockers and hyd lifters.

I am using Valvoline 20w50 Racing oil like Geezer has for now. Anyone use Royal Purple?? Whats the thought on synthetic for a new engine..

I havent started it yet...too many things left and running out of cash..
Am waiting for the alum valve cover and DUI kit from MIKE..

& thanks to Chris on the info for the Mallory 47 series L6 Ford dizzy. (at $400 I still think the DUI was a better choice than the Mallory)

I would say those numbers are good. By new I assume you mean fresh rebuild on a motor that has not been run yet? Might get even better after the rings seat.

Yup...very fresh motor...never started
