All Small Six Cylinder Head

This relates to all small sixes
Would it be possible to mount the water pump on the 250 with 3 bolts also? Because we only found 3, however we had to feel for them since the engine is still fully assembled.

Possible, but not easy, and, why would you want to? The 250 pump has larger flow to cope with the extra cooling needed on the bigger cubes. If you really want to do away with the pump, use a Davies Craig electric water pump. then you can leave the stock one under the bench, make the new intake pipe and have a shorter engine. At the same time you can fit am electric far and controller. this save power and the DC pump is actually more efficient than the agitator fitted stock. RIMG0166.JPGRIMG1104.JPG

Any way to stroke a 250 and is it worth it?
It could be done, not a cheap thing to do, and you might run into camshaft clearance problems for probably less than 10% increase which I doubt you would notice. Spend your money improving your engines breathing, much better value for money there. The old "log' heads have very low VE. Just to indicate what is possible, the log 250ci might produce 120honest bhp if your lucky, a 240ci barra produces 192kw(260bhp DIN)with the same stroke and slightly smaller bore, this is ALL down to improved VE.

Yes, on a stock one barrel, 120 maybe with the early log but the large log if you add two bolt down 1-7/16''hole sized adapters and make it tri power. not the small 1'' hole production type, you can bring that up more, with normal hodrod parts. Two members have run 14.20s times with street type cars, one with a 200 and one with a 250. That is as fast as a stock 70 boss 302.
