dealings with Inliner/ Argie head

Been meaning to post this for a while. A few weeks ago I purchased one of the newly cast Argie heads from Inliner and just wanted to post my experience for any others thinking of doing the same.
First, John was very easy to deal with, communication was excellent, he was very reasonable and everything was shipped when and as he said it would be. I would absolutely do buisness with him again.
Second, this head is awesome! The casting is very well done. The intake has been cleaned up very well and the header is new and obviously in great condition as well. I was very pleased with the quality of the header, especially the thickness of the flange. I took the head to my machine shop and the first response was a little puzzlement but after I explained what it was they loved it. They've worked on the US heads and were impressed by what a better design this is. My machinist confirmed that the head is very well cast and very portable. He expects to see a dramatic improvement over stock flow.
So all in all I would like to encourage any who were thinking about this to go ahead without any reservations. Matt.

Mattri, When you get that head ported make sure you ask them to pay a little more attention to the exhaust side. Seems like the exhaust ports on these SPs are somewhat anemic, but the intake side can be ported to flow as much as TrickFlow SBF heads. Based on the flowbench results, my SP has the potential of 240+ naturally aspirated HP.

oh yeah and that Inliner fella is swell too.

no sweat. my SP "bruddah" should be along soon to brag about his flowbench numbers with some pictures hopefully.

Matt, check your PM.

So SP "bruddah", I don't want to brag but my head flowed at remarkable numbers, excited? You bet!! It looks like I have the potential to reach 300+ naturally aspirated HP... NO I AM NOT JOKING, nor AM I DREAMING. I will post pictures and some numbers tomorrow, I logged in too late for tonight. Let's just say I am sure glad those Aussie heads took so long to get a hold of, cause you're right Inliner really knows his stuff, and is very honest. He sure has pointed me in the right direction,...South!!! I couldn't be happier with what I spent my money on, and who I did business with. By the way SP "Bruddah" (DBzOkole) I wouldn't have done this without your help too, thanks for all your expertise on these heads as well, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

Believe when i save enough up thats the direction i will go. Bought a valve cover from John. Not here yet but he has kept me updated. And yes he has to be COOL! hes from Texas.

Thanks for all the support guys.

Matt - when should we expect a running engine :?:

DBzOkole & bdj66 - You guys are having too much fun. Where are the pictures???

Falcon Kyle, Ud tiene un SP también?

John, I saw the future today and it was beautiful, I'll post pictures tonight.

If ANYONE is serious about buying one of these SPs I can PM you my flowbench results.

The motor runs now, it's just stock  Actually I have a ton of work to do to the rest of the car before I'll be putting the new parts on. Like I said it runs and drives well enough now so I'm going to use that to my advantage during the restoration, then, when I have everything else done I'll pull the motor and do a complete rebuild.
Any news on those valve covers?

Ok guys I have to figure out this picture thing to show you the SP on my block w/ the headers and Holley on there, as for the flow numbers, if you want them go ahead and PM me also and I will be glad to let you know. All the talk is legite with the proof in the numbers, any suggestions for posting the pics? SP "bruddah" can I send them to you?

A comment on cleaning up cast inlets like that one.

Rather than the expense of ceramics, what I do is use water/glass beads. This gives a semi-polished OEM-looking finish without the damage caused by either dry blast or wire wheels.

It's a harder service to find than dry blasting but really worthwhile results. Try someone who does a little work on expensive motorbikes - they'll be a likely source of information.

Adam.

p.s. Like the "Air-Gap" manifold! :P
