different 1904's ?

i just got my holleys in and they are both different from my other 1904, they both have the right ventui size but one has an offset choke and the other has a different accel pump linkage which makes the pump kick in later, what can i do

Are you going with a progressive throttle linkage? If so and two carbs are a fairly close match to each other use them for the front and back use the other in the center. You will only need a choke on that center carb on the other two can be removed or tied open. Actually with the weather we have here in SoCal we can get away without any choke.

Howdy:

The #1904s and its close kin, the #1908, were used on AMC sixes from '59 - '60, IH sixes from '61 - '68, chev & GMC trucks from '60 - '65 as well as Ford cars and trucks with sixes from '52 -'57. To get exactly the same linkage configuration you will need to look for exactly the same year, application and manufacture. Inside they will be very similar. Hope that helps.

the carb i need is a 6R 1545B, im going to make up a progressive linkage with hime joints, ill try to put up some pictures of the carbs up

I had to collect several Holley 1904 and 1960's before I found a matching set for the outer carbs. Ebay is your friend in this case. AMC, IHC and Ford linkages are different. I searched for Falcon carb and Holly misspelled and found some good deals. They are easy to rebuild. Mac Auto Parts carry kits for them as does Joblot Automotive. Trying to set the fuel level was a major hassel, but the glass bowls proved very useful. They're the biggest pain to set up, but by far the best looking set up anywhere!!!

As mentioned, there are many configurations of the 1904. Swap meets, E-BAy (sometimes with competing bids from fellow forum members), and "I give up on this $%#& carb" members are sources. Individually they can work great and provide many hours of fun setting up for multiple use.

I would strongly suggest testing individually on a good running engine before attempting a multi-carb setup :roll: ...
