I was looking at NAPA's web site and found 2 different distributor vacuum advance canisters for a 76 Maverick 250.
If someone can help me out here, what is the difference between the Vacuum Advance Control p/n VC2048 for Manual Transmission, and Vacuum Advance Control p/n VC2041SB for Automatic Transmission? Is there a different vacuum requirement for one then the other? I have changed my transmission from a C4 to a 4 speed and have been having pinging or detonation problems at light throttle highway cruise rpms. I also removed all the vacuum accessories and just use the port vacuum on the carburetor for the vacuum advance on the distributor.
