Hey Guys,

I found a red distributor cap, and rotor off a donor car at the wrecking yard. It looks to be in decent shape. It's off an 81 mustang straight six. The inside contacts have a minimal amount of buildup on them.
Would it be advisable to clean the contacts with a dremel (brush) and utilize this cap??.. I can afford a new one if needed, but if this one is salvagable, I'd like to use it, I guess only because I went through h**l finding everthing to go DII. And, I like the red cap  .
Thanks
Kelly

I´d suggest the dremel brass wire brush, or cleanup by hand with some 800 grit sanding paper.
