Unless you are running a steel billet camshaft a bronze gear is not used on a cast iron camshaft.
I sell a Hardened & Parkerized Distributor Gear 40+ Rockwell for $50.00 plus shipping.
Since you are from down under, get in touch with Crow cams, they sell a hardened gear for your engine.
Since you have a DUI better have them make sure their gear has the correct shaft diameter.
My gears have a .530" shaft diameter.
The distributor gear in this engine is a major problem. Most parts house gears are only 27 in hardness on the rockwell C scale.
The oiling problem is made worse when running the 1.65 yella-terra full rocker arms.
Extra oiling can be supplied by making an oiling groove in the 2nd & 3rd lifters to supply the necessary oiling when using the full rollers.
