distributor wiring

does the wire coming out of the distributor go to the positive side of the coil or the negative side of the coil.

for your VR, i think your best bet would be to look at your existing harness and take note of where every connection on the alternator ends up on the VR, and install the new kit to match. for the extra wires, study the voltage regulator itself to see if there are connectors in those positions, if not, the extra wires are useless, and may be cut off or coiled out of the way, your choice. if there are connectors for those wires, a wiring diagram might help you find where they go. one may be an extra ground, or for a feature your car doesn't have...
the first thing to do is unplug the existing harness from the VR and make sure the new one fits, then go from there

:D First before ALL else.UNHOOK your battery ground cable. The VR grounds through the VR
case IIRC,and it WILL bite.Ask me how I know.Hehehehe.
Good luck.Have fun.

The I terminal on regulator is for an indicator light (dash or idiot light) it is not used on some Ford model's like when they use an amp gauge instead. That is why the extra wire is on your harness so can be used on any alternator system.

just gunna rebuild the origional motro
sounds kinda radical (& expensive) but fun - if U got the time. money and no need 4 the vehicle in the interm.
I got a '75 250/4.1 ("core") if U want it...
