dual diaphram dist. to retard timing while on boost

Howdy All,

I was thinking that if I run a boost referenced line to the retard diaphram on the dist. while boost goes up the timing gets retard. I would have to run inline an orfice and some sort of check-valve because while coming off the throttle without those would keep it retard as when you hit the throttle again. Right??????? This would let me run a more initial advance for off the line until the boost kicked in. What ya think?

Yes, it will work. That's how mine is set up, but I'm going to run a stand-alone knock sensor circuit as a backup, also. So I'm a chicken; I'd rather lose a little power than damage an engine. Only going to 9psi, but gasoline quality does vary.

More low rpm torque and improved fuel economy are the primary goals. Engine will turn c. 1700 rpm @ 65mph with current tires, gears, etc. in HI range with overdrives engaged.
