Dual exhaust manifolds

Instead of the y-pipe connection on the front and rear manifolds can there be separate pipes ran off the manifolds or does it have to have the y-pipe?

You could run individual pipes.

alot of guys run the walker pipe, but it looked restrictive to me, and I wanted a single exhaust, so I made my own Y-pipe out of readjusting the angles of the factory pipes.
