Duraspark II and carb compatability

Just got a Duraspark II and planned on installing over the weekend. I still have the Autolite 1100. Dumb question..will the DS II work with the 1100 or should I swap carbs at the same time? I don't want to do more mods, I just want something that runs well.

If I swap carbs what would work best..Carter YF, Holley 1946 or bite the bullet and go to a 2100 or 32/36?

Thanks for the help!

Its the other way that you would have problems with the dizzy... that is SCV (pree66?) dizzy and a carb without the valve. Going the other way should not present any unsusal problems.

Im running a single advance DS2 on my stock 66 with a 1100. It seemed to run ok with the vac hooked in the orignal location (SCV) but I put a T in the line for the auto transmission (manifold vac) and the idle and 'off the line' performance was much better. I think mine has the cam advanced 1 tooth because I am running 45* total timing with no detonation. This winter I plan to pull the motor and check the marks.

It seems to me that a carb swap can be a lot of work and take some time and skill to get it working properly. Also you are always better off doing one mod at a time, that way you can see what actually gains performance and what does not. The other bonus is if things dont work at least you know which system is causing your problem.
