Hi everyone.

I just got a duraspark II distributor today. It is very dirty (full of oil and dirt) especially on the outside. That's what you get for the equivalent of $20.00 down here.

Now my question is what I have to watch out for in installation and what to avoid? How I can clean the distibutor?

Thanx
Vas

8) cleaning is fairly easy, i like to ues brake cleaner because it dries very quickly and leaves no residue. you can also glass bead it, but you must dissassemble it completely and be very sure you remove ALL the glass beads. as for installation it is the same as a point type dist. check the oil pump driveshaft to make sure it fits the new dist. early 64 and earlier ford used a 1/4" driveshaft. after that they used a 5/16" driveshaft.

 Didn't I clean yours properly?

Hi everyone.

This DSII distributor has the dual vac. advance.

Now my question is: Do I have to change it to single vac. adv. (can I change it?) or I just plug the one?

Thanx
Vas
