Okay, here we go ...

I have been reading about converting a carbed engine to burn E-85. The article stated that inline 6's with the intake and exhaust on the same side were very good candidates for this conversion, due to the high heat in the intake manifold.
The first question is, do any of you have any experience or opinions about this type of conversion ?
Next question, Since E-85 burns more efficiently with higher temperatures, would a non-intercooled turbo cause it to run even more efficiently, or just cause a plethora of trouble ?
The main reason for asking is an ethanol plant is being constructed near my hometown, and rumor has it that E-85 prices may actually become affordable locally.

Thanks for any info or opinions,
Dave

When I lived in Iowa, gasahol was commonly available. It was generally about 10% cheaper than regular gas, but it got about 10% less gas mileage as well. Ethanol doesn't have the energy content that gasoline has. Smelled nice when you were pumping it, though! :)

since the octane's so high, i think you could boost the hell out of it and not run into any problems. otherwise, it just plain sucks.
