EL XR6 T5 Gearbox

OK I just ordered my gearbox today. It's a second hand EL XR6 T5 of unknown km's, and I was just wondering if anyone knows of any quirks or problems with this box I should get looked at before I gets put behind my engine (Sometime in the distant future).
Also I assume that these still run a cable and aren't hydro?

unless you pull it apart all you can do is inspect the imput shft and out put normal preety good for damage and replace the seals ie main casing one and rear housing one.
thing to look out for when in car is poping out of first gear and a noisey 5th.
not sure on last question but iam pretty sure there electric on the t5 for the speedo cable

I used to have a EL XR6 manual

Pretty sure it was a cable clutch. The box in mine was sweet but it was also a low km car too and was a beautiful car, wish i never sold it but insurance was over $2400 for being under 25 so ummm, yeh, bit expensive.

Only thing i did notice is that if you really try changing to quick you will crunch gears, but you learn what the box likes and it only happened a couple of times when i snap changed, other than that no probs!
 
Thanks for the reply guys. I'll get a guy I know to strip it down and have a look. Hopefully my new job at Repco can score me any new parts I require!
