I have a '62 Falcon Sedan. I'm replacing the old 144 & 3 on a tree with a 200 & C-4 out of a 68 Mustang. What is the easiest and/or best way to rig up a shifter for the automatic? The car has a bench seat. Which motor mounts should I use? I have found tranny mounts for the change.

Thanks Mike

You should use the original style mounts from the falcon, they will work just fine on the 200.

I am not sure about how things look on your car, but I did something similar to a 67 valiant, and I just hooked up the auto tranny linkage to a short extention on one of the little shifter arms on the steering collumn.

The issue with doing it that way, is that it shifts "backwards", with P down, and 1 way up :D
At least it won´t pop out of park

And it is fun to watch people try to pull the lever towards the steeringwheel, to shift, and it just moves the other arm, down on the collumn.

That, and some wierd wireing job, with a starter button, and some other switches, makes it a very entertaining car to steal

Since you will now have an automatic choke, you could use the manual choke cable to shift the tranny until you find the floor shifter you want. That is what I am planning on trying come spring time when i put in the engine & tranny from a 66 mustang. If everything works, I'll hunt down a shifter.

Thanks for the replies, I will use a cable shifter like a b&m.
64Falcon 200, Thanks.
