I was just looking at the engine today that I have on blocks ,out of the car.I bought the engine like this and have yet to do any work on it.
I took the number off the manifold C9DE-6090-M.Can any one tell me for sure what this is and what it came out of?

Thanks

Hi Ponyman,

The C9M head was the first of the large manifold (1240cc) heads. It is also the first of the 1.75" carb bore heads. It has the 1.69" intake and 1.38" exhaust valve. This version of the head was used on both the 200 and 250 engines. It is also the first year of the so called "flat top log" heads. With the 1.75" intake valves and hardened valve seats installed this head would be equal to the best of the factory log heads.
