Exhaust Cutout Recommendations

I would like to install exhaust cutouts in my exhaust system. I would only be doing this for the open header sound, not for any performance gain. Has anyone else done this with good results? Do these things seal completely when closed? I don't want that leaky exhaust sound. I like these mr. gasket cutouts http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku

but they are only offered in 2" and I will be going with 2.25 exhaust. I don't want to add a choke point in my exhaust. Can anybody recommend some good 2.25 cable operated cutouts? I don't have $350-$600 to spend on the electric ones. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the electric/cable operated type.
The old school type I remember seeing as a kid:
Had a pipe extended to the side of the car from the header collectors with a bolt on cap. :D or
They capped the collectors and plumbed the exhaust out the side of the collector at a slight angle rearward.

My 61 Comet had a set of Hooker Dual Outs from Collectors to Stainless steel flex fittings then to separate Turbo type mufflers than to a Y pipe feeding the Xhaust Splitter(Dump). The cable allows : 1) run through the additional rear Glasspack in the stock position exiting under rear right bumper or 2) Dump out the side through an angle tipped pipe in front of rear right wheel. The dump still exits after the dual turbo type mufflers.
I can go quiet with glasspack low frequency or raspy loud with open xhaust rumble. And it sure feels faster with the dump open!.

The flapper valve contolling the dump broke after @ 1/2 hour. I had to disconnect the pipes and MIG it up in place in the cast Dump fittiing.
