Looking at getting new exhaust installed thursday, going to go with flowmaster 40 deltas, 2.25 in 2.25 out. getting new 2.25" pipe all the way through, quote of $200 installed. Does this sound like a fair deal? I figured I could do this now and then later go with the dual headers and use this same set up and add another flowmaster. Does anyone out there have the dual headers and 2 flowmasters coming off? If so how do you like them?

ask how much it would cost to change your exhaust for when you get the header...it will sound kinda like a ricer with your stock manifold. that is a great price actually but if i were you and had the money or could wait i would get the header and get a quote for them to install it and the duels you would be much happier with the sound i guarantee it . i dont know what the flowmasters sound like on our cars but if looking for loud i would recamend using glass packs(only with a header...other wise you get a really lound buzzing sound...not so cool) plus they only cost like $20 each... but what ever you wanna do is up to you.

just my opinion. 8)

sounds like a really resonable price...i dont have the header yet but i am running 2.25 pipes all around, dual exhuast via y-pipes with two flowmaster 40 series...without the header it sounds great and gives the car a whole new attitude...with a dual out header it will only make it better...go for it...i wish i had gotten mine for that price...i havent exprianced a wine noise with my exhaust because of not having a header but i do want to get one real soon because i know it will give the flows a better sound...you can the stock manifold is limiting the exhaust flow...dont forget the port divider also...

went back to the exhaust shop today, just to check on what the cost would be to go ahead and add the 2nd flowmaster now (figure I might as well absorb that cost now if i can that way when i get the header it won't be as big a chunk of change to get it set up, besides i just remembered the tax man is supposed to send me a present :) ) he quoted me $325 to add the y-pipe and second flowmaster(thats 325 for all of it.) that seems reasonable to me, my only question is whether there is enough flow from my engine to support two flowmasters even with a header?

If you are going true duals than use 2" pipe. But, be warned with headers and two 40 series it will be loud. I know people like it loud. I do myself, but in the car it gets kind of irratating.

Maybe a two turbo mufflers will be better. But, this is only my opinion. There are alot of opinions on exhausts and mufflers. Why not ask the guy at the shop? They install them all day.

325$i also a good deal with the 2 flowmasters, piping, and y-pipe plus install(mine 350$)...just make sure you go to a reputable shop because a cheaper deal might just be a cheaper job...yeah there is kind of a exhaust flow deal but wih a header and port divider there shouldnt be a problem...mine are at 2.25'' and its not to loud, remember no header or divider with mine now...all i can say is make sure you get it the way you want it...as for adding two flowmasters i dont think its a problem, i have no problem with them only thing i would have changed would be to have had the pipes at 2'' maybe but the 2.25 pipes are making me have to increase preformance more which isnt bad at all...i suggest 2'' piping for minimal mods and 2.25 for mild to wild mods...tell me how it goes and what you ended up going with...gary :D

would the 2.5" duals ith 2 flow 40 be good with the me head since it had dual headers with it i dont need to worry about that???? i just called my ocal shop n they quoted me a price of $390.00 for the dual pipes all new the 2 flowmaster 40's with 2 3in chrome tips out the back that sound reasonable and should i not put the tips on it?

or 250.00 with just new pipes and my 2 brand new cherry bomb glasspacks i got here id rathe go with the flows anyone needing 2 2 1/4 30 in long cherrybombs still in the boxes brand new never put on or used? or would it be better for me to use the glasspacks?

Well I went for broke and got the 2 flowmaster delta 40s from a y-pipe. Sounds absolutely great!!!! Loud.. But not overpowering, at least to me. Not at all ricey imo. BTW this is a quality shop, They do the bulk of the piping for all the trucks in this area, and this is Alabama so you know people around here are serious about their trucks :) So I had alot of references and knew they do good work. And the cost came in below quote at $313, this is even after they had to bend the y-pipe and hadn't planned on it. Good work below quote, hey even a blind squirrel will find a nut every once in a while.

Hopefully will have some pics soon.

Hey I just have a quick question about the flowmaster 40s. How do they sound at crusing speed and high reving? Do they drone at all?
And also would there be a big difference in sound between a single 2.5" exhaust with a flowmaster 40 and a dual 2" with flowmaster 40s.
just wondering if anybodys had a setup close to these and what they thought of them. Thanks.
