I plan on getting dual outlet headers, but am unsure about mufflers. Im trying to decide between flowmasters, and turbos.

Does anyone have dual flowmasters on their inline? what do they sound like at idle? cruzing?

Does anyone have turbo mufflers?
Im sure a new cam will help with the sound which i plan on upgrading.

thanks.

I can post a sound file of my 70 series in about two weeks....

I had them installed today...

Im plannin on doin 40 series flows, heard alot of good about them but havnt heard them yet, would like too. I wish there was a place to hear all this!

cool. im not gonna change mine for a while, at least a month. keep me posted. Ill be waiting for that sound file too.

I have dual 2.25" pipe with turbo flow-pros. You CANNOT tell it isn't a V8. People pull up next to me and ask what motor i have after a good 5000+ rev (i have flame throwers that shoot flames out the tail pipes!) and no one believes its a 6

Flame Throwers!!! Thats :P  . Do you have any pictures?

OK here’s the site with all the muffler sound files, just remember these are V8s, your sound will vary.

I like the Dynomax Supper Turbo myself. I’m going with the Super Turbo P/N WLK-17731, 2 1/4 in. offset inlet/center outlet, muffler to fit the round body and a single outlet header, just cuz I like a six to sound like a six. Check out Summit’s prices for these, part numbers WLK-17729 through 17739 for our sixes (only 34.95 for the one I want):

what about Dynomax's Ultra Flo Welded muffler? Wouldn't that be louder than the Turbo? I'm thinking about getting a pair of those.

Ive always heard that an H pipe sounded like crap on a dual outlet header for a six, but Im not sure about an X pipe, is it the same difference??? lol
Matt

Save your money! These inline six have a full 180-degree firing order. There is no reason to install an H pipe or X pipe. Those designs are needed for the unequal, out of cynic firing order of the V8’s. If I were to guess, it may even disrupt the exhaust pulse causing unneeded pack pressure.

Have fun, Ric.

Like it says in the "Queens of the Stone Age" song,

"I can go, with the FLOW"

If you know what I mean.
