factory valves

since the intake and exhaust valves for 75' and up 4.1L6's are bigger could i just order factory valves from an auto parts store for that year?

Howdy Back:

I'd go with '77 and later valves. '75 casting were the transition years for changing over to 1.75" intake valves. From D7 castings and on all were 1.75 intakes. It will not matter on the 1.38" exhaust valves as these were standard from '65 on.

you can use 144 intake valves for the exhaust.they are a little bigger.
