All Small Six Falcon Six Performance Handbook Status

This relates to all small sixes
I don't know her personally but I did some digging and found an address. I don't think it would be appropriate to share that here, if at all (although I have shared David's contact information with a few others here, with David's permission). I was told the sister-in-law is working with some people already. I have no insight into who, whether there are issues (other than the lost disk), or anything else.

You'd have to ask the leadership that question. I can't speak for them. Please bear in mind I only did the work to get in touch with David to answer the "what happened to the Handbook" question here. I never had any intention of going beyond that, although I don't mind being a conduit to convey status from David if he chooses to update me from time to time.

All in all, I have to agree with the earlier statements and inferences that the handbook is a nice compilation of information, but all that information is available out there from other sources if one looks for it. I bought a copy a while back, read it, and got very little from it that I had not already seen here and elsewhere.
The better solution for these folks, especially since they are up in age, is to be completely hands off and submit the files to Amazon and let them do all the work. The next problem even if they seek getting the books reprinted for themselves is distribution. The next complaints are going to be, "I purchased my book 3 weeks ago from the family and haven't received it yet!" If they are up in age, the last thing they need to keep up with is shipping and packaging. Amazon does it all and sends the family the funds when a book sells. It can't be any easier and trouble free than this......

i would NOT involve amizone.
Let see if our guys mull it over in any respect. They may have already.
I’d volunteer some time/energy (very lill $ tho - cuz there just aint none here)~
to get it published again. As above we got a retailer all ready (he sold them B4).
We got a team (I assume our members could take ona few one time tasks, but I no
what they say abt ass U me). The tough part to me is wrkin w/the family, assuring them
they’d get $, we’d show up to help where needed, etc

Time is not on anyone's side. Rather than dealing with this I'm sure the members here could just write another handbook in the time it will take to get the old reprinted and past the copyright issues.

To think that there are profits to be had beyond 100 bucks a year seems a bit silly considering the small community that exists here.

True, plus the fact that its available online on other forums as someone has mentioned and is unchallenged. I've been all over the patent and copyright game for years, and it takes 10's of thousands of dollars to challenge an infringement that you will never regain even if you win. So I agree, it can be easily rewritten and modernized with little effort by anyone that has the ready to print software, like myself and others.

time “lost” and more profits were not anything close to what was on my mind...
Guess I’m pretty poor at communicating what was/is. (or much else. Work ta do~

I am thinking about printing myself a personal booklet copy for restroom reading to replace Summit Racing and Northern tool catalogs.
I can borrow a booklet binding machine.

If I were to be involved with helping with the reprinting process, I would axe the spiral bound and opt for the more modern and visually appealing perfect bound process. Also I'd make a smaller size somewhere between a normal 8-1/2" x 11" to an 8-1/2" x 5" pocket size.

I believe that effort has already begun in the tech section link at the top of the forum and with Bubba's pinned post in the head of this forum.

Why not continue adding to those? Then there will be no need to worry about reproduction, publishing, binding or distribution - since both are already available to users.

good idea.
I like that they have started w/sectioning (ordering, sorting) the stickie’s a bit and...
just like the tv nightly news is different from the a daily e-newsletter I find
‘puter and hard copy publications suit different purposes & I use for different reasons.

A couple of free simple performance recipes could easily be made and published here.
One for the one barrel small log and one for the one barrel large log.
The first performance modification could be a quick advance curve all in at around 2,500.
Both would have around 9-1 compression to run 87 octane fuel.
An eBay header with a tight curve on the # 6 tube would be a must so it didn't interfere with the starter.
A stock cam and non adjustable rockers could be used so that the effective compression is not lowered.
From my practical experience 9-1 compression and a quick advance curve can create great throttle response compared to a stock log head six.
All the small six owners running a one barrel should be the first priority as they are the majority.
I see many 1 barrel small and or large log owners wanting a Comp Cam or Clay Smith type cam as their first performance while they have a restrictive 1-1/2" or 1-3/4" intake bore.
The intake bores one both the small and large log heads can be enlarged for future conversion to 2V while retaining the ability to run the stock small and large log aluminum carb adapters.

Not mine. Found on Facebook.
I'm just going to leave this here for ya'll good fellas...
