All Small Six Flexplate questions - bolting a 200 to 2-speed automatic transmission

This relates to all small sixes
I'm installing a rebuilt 200 I6 from a '66 Falcon into my '62 Comet with a 2-speed automatic transmission. Should there be a block spacer between the block and flexplate? Also, which side of the flexplate does the flexplate spacer go on (toward the trans or toward the block). Sorry for the newbie questions, Thanks.

No experience with the early stuff but all others use the block spacer/block plate needs to be there to help locate the starter.
The flex plate spacer is to reinforce the flex plate so it on the trans side , bolts, spacer/reinforcer ring ,flex plate, and then crank.
Maybe others have more info.
