Flexplate retaining ring

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a ring that backs up the flexplate on a 250 engine? I seem to have misplaced the one I had. I believe they are called shims.

Are you sure it had one? I've never seen one on a 250 (or a SBF for that matter). Only on 170 and 200 engines.

Jack, to be honest with you, No I am not sure, I pulled the motor apart last year and I just assumed I misplaced it. Does it just have the bolts? No washers or any thing?

I removed a flexplate from a 250 and there was not torque ring, just the boltss.

Thanks guys, I will put it back together with just the bolts.

8) for the 250, jus thte bolts same as the small block fords.
