Ford F1 truck

Can anyone tell me the location of the VIN number on a 49 ford pickup?Does the trucks also have the number stamped anywhere on the frame? I have found an old 49 with a good body but no title,hoping to get a title some how

my 48 had a tag on the glove box door & stamped on the right side of the firewall never look a the frame

I have an old Chilton's manual that lists the serial number location for Ford 49-50 CARS being "on dash under hood at the right side".

Sorry, it doesn't give any such info for trucks.

I've found a few brands of truck to have a frame number forward of the left front wheel, on the side of the frame (not top edge). Usually well crudded up!

Ford usually had the serial # stamped into the driver's side frame rail top forward of the fire wall. I don't remember if this was continued after 1947 pickup production or not. This is where I would start though.

My old '49 had the vin stamped towards the front of the passenger's side frame rail and also on the passenger's side firewall.
