Hey guys,
I’ve been considering how best to handle my exhaust before the drone of the existing system wipes out what’s left of my hearing. I’ve got an EBay header into a Y-pipe and 2-1/4 all the way to the back through a very loud muffler before the axle and then the pipe goes over the axle and exits just past the rear valance.
Conventional wisdom says that a single pipe has performance benefits over true duals and I was inspired by some posts on a Mustang 6 Facebook group, so my plan is to keep the Y-pipe and single 2-1/4” to the back, lose the existing muffler and get a single in, dual out muffler from a 3rd gen Camaro and put it between the diff and the gas tank.
Here’s the muffler I’ve chosen: https://partsavatar.ca/walker-usa-direct-fit-muffler-18375
I’ve seen some photos from the rear of a car on the Facebook group but I haven’t seen the way they plumbed the pipes or the muffler hangers. Has anyone here done this type of exhaust on a Mustang or Falcon?
Thanks,
Andrew
