FSPP Valve Covers - UPDATE

Got the first two proto types from the foundry today. They look great. Still need to have them machined and finished to verify fit and appearance before sending the pattern back east to have the match plate produced. But I think its fine.

Also found some matching air cleaners. So happens my pattern maker made the patterns for these, for another company. So I'll be offering them in matched sets with the new covers (same finishes). The fins are the same size, spacing, and count, so they should look great together as a set. 8)

The cover to the left is the master used to make the sand castings. The two to the right, are the first two proto types. Remember they still need to be machined and finished, so they look a little rough.

Any update on the new head?

Were working on it. The biggest delay was working it into the designers schedule. But he has finally started working on it and should have the full prints done by 9-1. According to him, he will have no problem designing a head that wil support 400+ HP, naturally aspirated.

We have been doing a lot of testing on both OZ heads (2V & XF). Porting them out as far as they would go (destroyed the head) to see how much flow we could come up with, so as to compare to the new design. May do some testing on a cast Argie head too.

Our first head will be an OZ-2V style, but we may do a XF too. Still shooting for a proto type by 10-1, and full production by the end of the year. Its a long process and I didn't want to rush anything and come up short in the end. So be patient, we will get there eventually.

I have a lot more info, but don't want to post to much right now. May even flow test a direct mount Holley for comparison numbers. Eventually, we will release all the numbers from the flow test and dyno runs. Including those from the new aluminum head. We have no intentions of keeping it all a secret and making you guess. We want you to be able to "Judge for Yourself" with all the facts out in the open.

Just know that we are doing everything we can (investing our time & cash) to design and produce the best (not only in performance terms, but in quality as well) cylinder head possible, at an affordable and reasonable price.

Hummm...... did someone say forged cranks and rods? :idea:

Hey AZ will the rocker cover fit a 2V oz head and will we be able to order in Oz? What do you think the price will be landed in Oz?

Yes, they will fit an OZ head, as well as the Argies.

I will probably set up one distributor in Australia, so you can order from them dirrect. Or you will still have the option of ordering from me (I will ship to OZ).

Still not sure on pricing. Getting estimates on the machining and the various finishes. One guy quoted $100 each to polish. Obviously, I'm getting more quotes.

Will let you know as soon as I have all the cost nailed down. But they will be somewhere in the $150-200 range (more for polished). Hoping to keep them under $170, which is what my compeditor's is going for.

lol yah i'm with him on that. We (as in 300 owners) are like the old cowboy toy the kid had on the movie "toy story" after he bought "buzz lightyear" (lost and forgotten). I love my motor and would realy like to see more aftermarket out there for it because, it's a very underbuilt motor from factory that just doesn't breath well (in other words huge gains can be seen and not many people hotrod with a 300-6 lol).

If we got past that we could come close to matching #s of a 302 with a wider lower torque band. Right now there are a few hurdles holding us back (poor flowing head and little aftermarket availability for hipo parts).
