Have a one barrel Holley carb on a 200 . we are original owners , we think this is the original carb , it has been rebuilt a few times over the years , and has had many fuel filter changes . Now having an issue with fuel dripping from the threaded side of the fuel filter while the engine is running . No fuel dripping on the rubber hose to solid fuel line connection . Seems like every time i check the fuel filter , it is loose , so is engine vibration causing the fuel filter to come loose or maybe threads are damaged between a fitting in the carb and the screw on fuel filter ? or maybe i should think about a new carb !

^^^ Yes, this will help keep the threads in your carburetor from getting worn out as well. I put them on carbs even if they didn't leak. You can sometimes find the same fitting at a local hardware store for less money, but it's hardly a bank breaker at Mike's. ^^^^

Thanks for the ideas and link to Mikes .
I looked at the link to the Brass fuel inlet fitting 90-63 . There is already a fitting that looks like that on the carb , the screw in fuel filter does not screw directly into the carb . The fuel leak / drip is between this fitting and the screw in fuel filter. Or should i be replacing this fitting ? Maybe the fitting i have is worn out from years of fuel filter changes ? maybe thats where the issue is ! Should i be using a thread sealant ? or would thread sealant end up inside the carb ?

Was also thinking about not having a screw in fuel filter . As this area under the air filter housing is out of sight , so fuel drip had gone unnoticed for a long time . What do you think about installing a threaded fitting with a hose bead end , so rubber / flex fuel hose between solid fuel line to hose beaded fitting on carb .
Then installed an inline fuel filter some where , maybe even before the fuel pump . maybe mount some where if there is a fuel leak at the inline fuel filter connections it's not above something hot . Would be no risk of damaging threads at the carb and very easy to change out the inline fuel filter and less risk of fire . Maybe the threads are already damaged on my old original carb . Has anyone done this on a 200cid ? until i get this resolved , looks to me like hi risk of fire !

I do not like that idea, when you push the filter nipple into the hose pieces of hose can get peeled off and mess with the carb. Just fix the carb. fitting part.
Use a sealant made for gas. just do not over do it. Keep in mind that there maybe a crack you are not seeing.

yes , maybe the fitting that is between the screw in fuel filter and carb has a crack in it , as that fitting stays in place everytime a new fuel filter gets installed , over the years has been over tightened , so maybe it has a crack.
