All Small Six Fuel line routing from pump to carb

This relates to all small sixes

Total rookie question here:

How the heck do I connect the fuel pump to the carb? (In my case mechanical pump to Holley 1904 carb). I have some old photos of when i first got the engine (before disassembly and rebuild) but to be honest, what i found doesn’t really look like it was done professionally.

Pics for reference (looks a lot cleaner now)

Id love to get this done asap, I.e. if there’s fuel line I can pick up locally at autozone that’d be great. But what do I get? 3/16 line? It comes in 5 foot sections, how do I cut it? Do I need “soft” hose sections at each end? That’s what I found on there originally but it didn’t seem well connected.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I expect that the stock size was 5/16. 3/16 is generally for brake lines. You'll cut it with a tubing cutter and get a tubing bender for your bends. Or you can check NPD for premade pipes. What car is this for?

No car. Got a free 144 off Craigslist a while back and just been tinkering with it. Trying to rebuild it. If it turns back on I succeeded.

I did just find this diagram for a 170:

I guess my question now is how do I connect the soft part at the end with the filter? Hose clamps?
