Fuel Pump?

I've got fuel in the bowl - and the pump will pump...

Does that rule out the pump being faulty? I am having a hell of a time figuring out why this thing won't run.

If I pour gas down the carb, it will fire up and run but stall after a few seconds.

Otherwise, nothin.

I had this problem with my old 1100. I swapped to a carter YF and am having the SAME problem....

Check your fuel pressure with a guage. Even if the pump still pumps fuel, it may have a pin hole or crack in diaphram resulting in low fuel pressure. A faulty pump (low pressure) can cause numerous driveability problems, such as momentary cutting out, hesitation, low power, stalling, and/or failure to start.

Thank's mike - that had been a thought (altho If I can't get it to start, makes it hard to check.)

As a side note - the fuel in my tank is apparantly piss yellow. I wonder if it's just bad gas...

Hmm, I drained the bowl and hooked the pump up to a gas can full of alcohol (all I have here) and it seems to actually kinda run.

Pop the line loose before your fuel pump and try blowing air back through the line to see if there is a problem/obstruction in the line or tank :)
