GAC Head Gasket?

Anyone heard of a GAC Head gasket for our 200 or know the compressed thickness?

Also, no additional lines of sealant is impregnated into the gasket around the water/oil passages. I know everything says no sealant is needed w/composite gaskets, but most seem to have some sort of impregnated sealant. Will this be a concern if torqued properly correct?

I picked up this head gasket set a while ago off Ebay for cheap and am thinking about using it for a head swap since it's already sitting on my shelf. It's a light blue composite material if that helps.

Thanks!
Jay

proper torque procedure for cylinder heads:
Lube all threads and bottom of bolt heads with antisieze
torque all bolts in sequence to 30 Ft. Lbs
back all the bolts of completely in sequence
Torque all bolts in sequence to 20 Ft. Lbs.
following the torque sequence increase torque 20 Ft. Lbs. at a time until you reach the maximum recommended torque.

If you doubt the ability of the gasket to seal properly paint both sides with silver-aluminum paint three coats allowing each to completely dry. Then follow the above torque process. (NEVER paint imprinted gaskets)
If bolts penetrate water jackets then after torquing remove bolts that go into water jackets one at a time, in torque sequence, and clean threads and bolt heads, and recoat with thread sealant and retorque that bolt to maximum suggested torque in one step. Continue with the next bolt until all the bolts that go into water jackets have been installed with sealer on threads and bottom of bolt heads.

I have never had a head gasket fail to seal and never had to retorque a cylinder head having followed this procedure.

Thanks fellas, but I'm already done. I just used the gasket as it was with no additional sealant and torqued via the recommended sequence in 3 steps (55, 65, 75lbs). I'm sure it will be fine, but only time will tell. If it leaks it'll give me a good reason to pull the engine and slip in a new cam in the Spring. Only down fall there is having to wrestle with the header bolts again!

Head gasket availability is an interest since their are less sources as the Falcon sixes are less common. I googled GAC and found a few references but no specs. As you indicate, installed thickness is usually a consideration in selecting head gaskets as it affects CR. Did the head have any work done on it?. Good to read you got it assembled .

Powerband,

The head had been worked on by the previous owner, but when I cc'd it the volumes were pretty much stock for a 66 head (58cc?) and the surface was flat. So I don't think much was taken off to boost CR. I don't recall the specifics right now but I wrote them down at home. I'm probably going to end up w/less than desireable CR for now. If I'm at 8.5:1 w/the new gasket I'd be happy. With the stock cam still in the block high performance isn't my goal right now......just geting the Offy setup running is goal #1.
