Finally got the garage cleaned out .After the big swap meets of the new year and TradeMe internet sales the garege is starting to look a bit more roomy and the old falcon is getting more attention, thanks to some injection of funds from the sales.I finally got my new 500 cfm edelbrock
and the adapator to fit it sideways on the 4 barrel redline manifold.
Solds my old carbs , the 2 barrel 500 , 4 barrell 465 , single barrel x 2 ,67 fairmont dash ,old fuel pump ,stereo , carb spacer , 2v intake manifold (a guy in the US) and a heap of old holley spares . If i can get some photos sorted of the new carb i will post them , but that photobucket thing is not working for me.

Cheers DAVE

Noooooooo!!!!!

I needed a 2v intake manifold!!!

No of any others?

One of my mates has got one sitting in his garage but comes with the head
and hes not overly keen on selling it .
Got my one from pick a part on one of those $20 entry fee days and all parts are a $1 dollar.Got some mint chrome and the manifold for $25 bucks :D . Its started to piss down so i left the head behind ,man i should of stuck at it .Seen a few on TradeMe .

Why did you get the Edelbrock 500 when you had the 465 Holley.

The Holley was to wide ,it wouldnt fit in the space limitations. Having it on
in a normal way the throttle would touch the strut tower or the vac pot would touch if reversed ,and it wouldnt fit in the gap sideways. The edelbrock fits in perfectly when turned sideways on an adaptor plate.
I can email pics of the set up but cant get them on here, unless someone can host them for me.

Its a redline 4 barrell alloy head manifold with and edelbrock #2694 (comes as a pair) adaptor plate and a #1404 edelbrock 500 carb.
....Man those headers look ugly  .......bring on the pacemakers :D

Don't worry, it's just sleep deprivation. :P

Note the rocker cover is the EFI style cast unit, with the original oil filler cap style. Using these with high lift roller rockers requires a spacer to be cut, or a couple of thick, wired rubber gaskets stacked. There's a plastic riser for the plug leads which is supposed to clip to the front of the cover, but they break and are hard to find now.

Yep...its supposed to have thet lead clip ,but im waiting for my Ford SVO
order to come in with a wire loom holder that im going to modify.Ive also got to put the breather on that little pipe on top, and a billet throttle cable bracket.

That redline 4 bbl Redline manifold looks lower than my Cain 4bbl manifold which is still on the way in the mail. Im wondering now whether the Cain will fit under my TD Cortina bonnet with a basic 50mm air cleaner. Im almost certain the Redline 4bbl will as others have used them?

Dave
Ive heard that the Edelbrock carb runs cheaper on fuel than a Holley? Have you had a chance to see if this is the case with your set up?
Tim

Mate it runs cheep as ,it hasnt used a drop of fuel since ive had it
Im still messing round with bits and peices but its getting close to fire up.

Cheers Dave

Is the adaptor available ? I have a Redline manifold and a 500 Edelbrock carb I was going to put on my X flow and would like to turn it sidways ! this would make things more simple. Where do I get one ? Cheers , Mike

Mike , the adaptor is made by edelbrock .Part number #E2694 .Most speed shops with access to edebrock should be able to get there hands on these.I have one left over from my job ,but by the time you factor in the postage you can probably buy a pair at the same price.PM me if you interested.

Cheers Dave
